The digital edition · On the web now · iPhone and Android November 1, 2026

First Light, on your phone.

The whole book, with the Standard built in. The app asks the morning question, keeps the tracker honest, and holds you to the Rep by noon and the report by six.

First 7 days free. No account needed to start. Coming to iPhone and Android on November 1, 2026.

The app's Today screen at first light: Day 9 of 60, All Men Seek for Thee, with the Page, Rep and Report marks on the horizon

Why an app

A journal Kindle couldn't hold

First Light is a book you write in, so there is no Kindle edition. The app is the digital edition: every page of the book, with the parts of the Standard that paper can only ask you to remember made into something that asks you back.

The morning question: Is this the first screen you've looked at today? Yes, this is first, or No, something got there first

Rule 2 · Jesus before the phone

It asks first

Before the page opens, one question: is this the first screen you've looked at today? Answer honestly. “No, something got there first” still opens the page. The tracker just records the truth, because it's the only record you have.

Today

The sky keeps your time

The sky over each day follows your day, set by your first hour, not the sun. A night-shift nurse gets dawn at 7 PM. Three marks sit on the horizon: the Page, the Rep by noon and the Report by six, filled as you keep them.

Today at first light, the Page kept
The same day in the afternoon: the Page and the Rep kept, the Report still due
The Rep card, done at 9:12 AM, and the day's journal prompt
Report by 6: Done or Failed, sent to your person, and the Finish the day checklist

Rules 3 and 5

The Rep by noon. The report by six.

Each day's Rep sits on its own card with what you need to do it: text or call your person, a timer, the passage. Mark it done and the time is kept.

In the evening, one tap opens your messages with “Done” or “Failed” addressed to your person. Then finish the day: the page, the Account, the Rep, the journal, the report.

The tracker

It doesn't round

Twelve watches, five boxes each. A box fills only when all five rules were kept that day, and when one wasn't, the app shows you which one, with the times. Miss one and the watch restarts, just like the book.

The Tracker: 9 mornings kept, 6 boxes filled, watch 2 of 12
Finish the day: four of the five kept; Jesus before the phone missed
The Book: Read This First, the Standard, the Commitment, and every day of Watch 1 and Watch 2

The whole book

Every page, every day

All sixty days, plus Read This First, the Standard and the Commitment. Read ahead whenever you like. When the next volume is out, the app rolls straight into it.
